Empirical base of the study are narrative interviews with women born during or after WW II, who were traumatised by sexualised violence within their families. Their parents had either been bystanders or perpetrators during National Socialism. Using case reconstructions, the effects of this violence onto the lives of these women and their familial relationships are investigated. What becomes apparent is how the attention paid to familial and life histories can either block or encourage transformative processes on a biographical and an inter-generational level.
